Hi
« on: 29.08. 2015 11:31 »
Hello all, it was a nice to find a forum full of all the answer to questions I had not asked yet.
I'm currently at the bottom of a steep learning curve having just bought a 1959 (so the registration says) A10.

One of My earliest memories is of My Dads A10, must of been 3 at the time, He still has one 40 odd years later but sadly not the same one.

I've only add it a week and that's been filled with highs and lows, unfortunately not the mechanically excellent machine the PO said it was, but I will leave that for future post.

Currently reading through back posts so I don't ask the usual questions.

regards Phil.

Thank you all for a nice welcome, I have to own up about the avatar basically I've plagiarised  Classic Bike Guides tee shirts but I'm sure they plagerised it from elsewhere!
Thank you beezermacc for the offer I'm sure I will take you up on it sometime down the line.

G'day Phil  *welcome*.
You meet the nicest people on a BSA A7/10, most of us are here.
Is your Dad still riding his A10? Just thinking how great it would be going for a ride with him.

Welcome Phil.
My A10 S/A was bought and registered as 1959 but Its a 54 engine and 59 frame. Like you Mine wasn't as good mechanically as PO said and I have just, with the help of this forum, got it sorted and later today will get her off the bench and go and road test the clutch.

With all the vagaries of the different A10's and PO horrors you will find the forum invaluable.
Good Luck

It seems that way muskrat, My Dad doesn't get out on His as much as He should, hopefully that will change soon but it doesn't stop Him thinking, talking and spending money on his bikes most days.

Thanks Alan mines the other way, registered in '59 with engine and frame number from '60!
good luck with your road test.

I've spent the last week reading through previous post started with A7 /  A10 engine and currently on page 27 already learned a lot.

Hi Bob and duTch, thanks for the welcome.
I love the roads round here, 20 minutes from Yorkshire dales and The Lake district,10 from the Trough of Bowland not a bad road (apart from pot holes) between them.
Thanks for cheering up gasket face though He and I are happier He's back where He belongs, hopefully with out the oil leak this time.
