1952 inner primary oil seal.

Hi again,
I have just received a new oil seal 67-1242 to replace the old felt seal, can anyone tell me if I can remove the three rivets and install this seal or have I got the wrong seal ?
Thank's Ivor.

This is the gearbox shaft into the primary case right? I changed mine. I drilled out the rivets. Take care as the metal is thin and the holes are near the edge. I used gasket sealant on the new seal flange. I used small nuts and bolts to secure my new seal but they rubbed on the sprocket so I had to grind them down. If you have blind Pop rivets you might use them; needs to be oil-tight.

Thanks Gary,
I will do that. I hesitated, and thought that I had got the wrong seal, but it is an update then ? I will look for some rivets now.

I just changed the seal and used three alloy 3.5 dia nails, just snipped the ends off leaving enough to burr over. Worked a treat !!
