I like the patch idea. I'd buy a few of those.
The thing I don't like about the Tee's is the Vinyl, nice when new but cracks in time and then looks duff

A circular patch the same size as our now redundant UK tax discs (3 inch/75 mm o d?) would look OK in the similarly redundant tax disc holder!  I'd happily go for that.

Thinking about it a bit more...  The patch could be any size (preferably circular) as a digital camera and printer will soon produce a scaled version to fit the tax disc holder.

I couldn't find a circular clip art image of the world that showed Australia hence the elliptical one I used.

This seems to be taking on a life of it's own, quite rightly, great idea  like the idea of a tee shirt AND a badge, lets agree on the logo and get an idea of numbers on a continent basis ,that should help with the cost and distribution , BobH

Perhaps Mercator also had friends and acquaintances in the Antipodes. Representing the globe in 2 dimensions as a circular image without enormous distortion is really awkward unless someone gets left out.
I think I prefer the first draft of the (edit) world map design rather than the second.

Amount of detail and number of colours will drive production costs, of course.

I’d imagine that if you go for a patch or hat where some kind of stitching is involved then the number of colours is likely to be limited to some extent. Thusly the world view is probably more appropriate to that. However, I feel that the BSA rider pic is more ‘us’. Richard’s comment on non-breathability is an interesting one. I’ve encountered this with a Ron Jon shirt when I first wore it, but after a couple of wear/wash cycles the problem seemed to go away – and without any image degradation. I can’t explain the physics of this.

There's not an artistic bone in my body. Publisher and Paint.net got me this far in about 3 hours. *pull hair out*

Very nice effort Muskrat. I'd be lyin' if I didn't say I thought could be tweaked. For example, I think that that beautiful bike is a bit lost in the background. Then, as a badge, it would be really lost. Pardon me for critiquing and not creating anything as nice as you have. Just for grins, I thought I'd check out what it would look like as a T-Shirt. Personally, if I'm buying a t-shirt for riding, I like it to be a bright or obnoxious color, for visibility. In the case of the picture, below, I tested your art on a white t-shirt, otherwise, all the flags end up with yellow or iridescent-green in their national colors. The shirt that's pictured is about $10.50/ea in qty. 50. I'm not super-promoting t-shirts, but I tend to wear them a lot, like right now.

Richard L.

P.S. My first read-through found this "The shit that's pictured is about...". No shirt! *smile*

If it were me in that shirt there would be more bosom. Well, at least one tit in there.

But good stuff chaps, all way beyond me.

G'day Richard. I see what you mean " lost in the background". I'll try something else tonight. I'll have to find a program to bend text better than MS Publisher word art.
I'm a black tee shirt & jean man.

Oh Muskrat, you put me in the awkward position of nit-picking again. Well here goes. You are too far away to throw anything at me. By having the white background for the flags on a black t-shirt the whole image must be filled with vinyl ink and it's back to no breathing through the fabric. Maybe try a graphic that is all light colors on a black background where the black of the T provides the black color. As for text on a circle, readily done in AutoCAD, but I need a break from my desk for the rest of the day.

Apologies for, well, whatever's appropriate.

And on a tee shirt I like the sleeves to come down into the crook of the elbow - not so fashionable right now I know.

I've got pretty thick skin, Richard. Took me hours just to erase the background from between the spokes. And my flag globe was missing the Union Jack, the Stars & Stripes and the Southern Cross flags.
Might have another go tomorrow.
Cheers

As the Asda tee-shirt thread is being diverted I thought it would be good to start a new topic.

I've been trying to make some images with more impact than the bloke riding his motorcycle at night which might be suitable for a tee-shirt or patch.
I'm sure that someone could do much better than me but here is what I've just knocked up in Adobe Photoshop Elements.
