As i posted, I like the "sublimation" method for long life, screen prints don't last all that long (many washes). Could youmask them how many washes that printing would last and if they do sublimation? Also cost for 100 (25 M, 25 L, 25 XL, 25 XXL).
Custom Ink does not do dye sublimation. Personally, I'm not as concerned about the longevity of screen prints. In my experience they seem to last long enough, never completely peeling off but showing age wih cracks. I am guessing that if washed gently and dried on cool their life of beauty can be extended, just like me. Nevertheless, I'll give them a call.
As for the three continant . i would imagine the price would be better there (USA) and the postage would be about the same to UK and Aus. Or have a supplier on each continent (smaller run #'s = higher cost).
Cost for 100 in the quantiles suggested by Muskrat would be $8.08/each (I paid $28 for the one-off) with free shipping in the U.S. After a quick seach, it seems dye sublimation would be 1.5x to 2x the price. Custom Ink has a feature where every member of a group enters his own size information and pays separately. Not sure if they must be shipped to one address, but it may not matter, since Custom Ink does not ship internationally.
As we have two viable designs we should put it to a poll. Timing Case, Engine sketch, other. I feel the Engine Sketch would make a good 3" patch for our jackets.
To me, though they will be reluctant to admit it, the votes that matter the most are Admin and Moderator. I would be just fine accepting their decision on an existing design, a modified version of an existing design or a completely new design. Though sight-unseen, I do believe Jools must have the skills to develop a fine design, and I respect his points about a wide poll. Nevertheless, I believe there still needs to be some minimum committee, which could include the three of them. I'm not trying to speak for anyone else (uuuuh, GB?) who has already invested time, money and enthusiasm for the project. So far, I don't see any restriction to going rogue if someone doesn't like the official design, regardless of how many people make up the committee.
