Has anyone collected or assembled a chart of proprietary hardware and markings for BSA? (or other British bikes for that matter??)
Recently a local restorer was visiting and wanted ALL my bolts and hardware with specific markings on them, While most can be identified by part number, some anal retentive bolt polishers covet and collect those with certain markings on them.
For example certain year Triumphs used a hash mark on the brake drum sprocket bolts and the center hubs that have the bolts that secure the drum/sprocket to the hub. some used a cast assy for the sprocket and drum but later had a removable sprocket and early versions of these were difficult because the close primity prevented the bolt from turning (Many replace these with socket head/allen)
BSA had some markings as well,, Ill attch a few pictures I just slurped off a Goldstar Freddie offereing on Satans Swap meet..
Would be a really useful resource for some...
