Model/year specific picture data base?

Being a newbie both to BSAs and this forum, there is something I miss both here and on the web generally.

What about a picture data base where members could post pictures of their bikes according to year and model?
This would be really helpful if you are doing a restoration or f.ex. sourcing parts for going back to original.
Of course pictures of orignal bikes would be preferable in this case. :-)

Best would be if there could be like a standard, f.ex. 4 pictures, right, left, front, rear and in relatively high resolution.
Maybe this idea has been up before?

That's a good idea, but. Finding bikes that are in "as she left the factory" would be hard (99.99% would have something not right). At a quick count there is 84 different A7/10 combinations/years and then export or home models, so it would be a mammoth task.

Well, you don't have to be that hard on "as left the factory", or all 84 versions.
This could be a slow but steady build.
There are actually not very many high resolution pictures available at all on the web...

Sorry Johnny I didn't mean to sound negative (note my first sentence). If anyone has photos to put in make sure you note any alterations or period accessories. I'm afraid both mine would need two pages of.

I know many machines are no longer standard but even the modifications may be useful to someone restoring a bike.

Having decided that I should try to restore my plunger to an as original look as I could I was hungry for any pictures I could find. It seemed that most marketing images of the period show the timing side, (prettier I suppose). Although I had a complete and original machine I needed to know things like where exactly should transfers go; how exactly should the horn attach; what pattern handlebars should I buy etc.?

It's a good idea indeed, a start would be to gather good scans from original sales brochures + ads\tests from old magazines, and hopefully get an overview on how the different models \ details 'quite probably' should look. Years ago made this page > http://www.a7a10.net/BSA/ads/advertisements.htm for that purpose, but better\more scans and photos are needed.

Would an addition to the "infrastructure" be required for this?
For example a new subject under "Bikes, Pictures, Stories & more" and under that a folder for each year?
