This forum really shines compared to others. I am getting into Arduino, (Google it). I joined the Arduino forum. The replies I get from the experts, after asking newbie type questions are withering. They make me feel like giving up!  Luckily a friend has been able to help me.

^^^ Yes, new guys to the old bike (or a7a10) scene are well taken care of here as far as I can see.

But we have had a (very) few cases where 'old', skilled guys have not been happy (afaik due to some 'too quick' replies to their posts), would be nice if we find the way to avoid this.

Arduino, the modern version of people building their own radioreceivers in the early 1900's ? :O)

Just one little thing I see going south.
"give appreciation" button is karma for a good deed or information. eg sending a needed part or info where to get it.
"like" button is if you like the post.
"good advice" button is for concise information totally agreed with.
Some members are a little confused as to which button is meant for what.

If this was a Triumph forum, you'd be telling us how you'd been round to their houses and started brawling with them in a beer fuelled rage, and most probably goosing their wives before you left.

Fortunately, we all rides B.S.A's, and as such are gentlemen not drunken louts!

Those buttons appear very close on this tablet. I find it quite easy to dab the wrong button.

I have done that greybeard and then thought o dear how was that good advice when it wasn't even a post of advice. since the first lock down I have not been a drunken lout but watch this space

Muskrat you are right with what you say. Tbh I had a little break from the forum having moved house and doing the place up for the last year. I noticed that green circle 🟢 on my return and I failed to notice they were two separate things. It’s only now you’ve pointed that out that it’s clear. I wonder how many other members are making this mistake. Once you know you know I suppose.
On the appreciation side of things this is one of the nicest and friendliest forums I’ve come across. Highly knowledgeable and no question is ever ridiculed. Again I read more post than I can offer advice with my limited knowledge. I’ll repeat my donation this year. Keep up the good work

it worked fine but the link that is said to take you straight to  PayPal didn't

God time really does fly, even this year of all years - awaiting a call for a jab, being in the over 70 clinically vulnerable groups, if I get any more letters  from  Matt Hancock I'll consider him a pen friend (like hell I will)

tried your link bill things weren't happening so I managed to work my way into my paypal history and blundered my way round that to sort it  ,. I think I've sent a cake with a candle on it
