Help ID my A10
« on: 12.12. 2014 18:00 »
I have started work on my A10. I would like to confirm one way or another that it is or is not a scrambler. I have done some research and cannot find anything that would make me believe it is not. It doesnt really matter to me except that when passed on to my daughter she would have a better idea of its value. Here is the specks.  Frame # GA10.345 with no pillion loops,  engine # DA10R 7431 with HHC under the #,  Trans ASC T, the mag has a manual advance. It has the small 1/2 width brakes and a blue smaller size tank.

frame number starting GA10 ? That is/could be/maybe a Gold Star Spitfire scrambler, I'm not anything of an expert as others here but might keep your daughter in shoes for rest of her life, if not already don't let her go out with boys with Brit bike knowledge ( you could wake up one morning minus daughter and bike)

The dating, ID, delivery documentation obtained on mine only identify it as an RGS delivered to Hap Alzina. It has no pillion loops, clamp-on footpegs, and was in Scrambler guise when purchased from a junkyard by the previous owner about 25 years ago. Near as he could find out at the time, the factory didn't distinguish between Scramblers and roadbikes in their paperwork. If anyone knows different I'd be curious too.

Forgot to mention, mine also has the 1/2 width brakes and had the high pipes when po got it. No generator, either. Is there a hole in the engine mount for the generator?

It has a generator and came with a headlight with a home made bracket. It also has clip-on footpegs.

G'day Roger.
I think the bolt on pegs give it away as a scrambler. There's a few sites to check out.
