Hi all
Home again from the windy North Sea - and I have started to put my new and old parts together.

And of course there's a question on the way:

As mentioned earlier I have now left out 1 friction plate as there was one to many in the overfilled basket. But this now leaves me with a pushrod that is to long... Has anyone got the measurement of how long the pushrod protrudes into the gearbox side next to the adjustment arm with the ball? see below picture, sorry its fuzzy...

I have measured mine to protrude 9.88 mm (0,3895 Inches) and that so far out that there is no room for the adjustment screw - I know I will have to shorten, but app. how much?

11 3/4 inch rings a bell Joergen, but of course that might standard and now your clutch maybe isn't so safest way would be to cut a bit of 1/4 rod if you can (wood dowel might substitute) and try for size, also it used to be common practice to cut the push rod in half and insert a ball bearing in the middle of the two halves (gives a little flex in the rods travel = good) and allows for trimming to size and also leaves the hardened ends intact.

HI Joergen,
Getting the length  correct is vital to smooth clutch operation
The threaded pusher should be straight in line with the pushrod at half lift as well as the operating arm and cable being at 90 degrees to each other at the same time
If the clutch pushrod length was ok before, reduce it by the thickness of the plates removed or,
reduce the rod length a little at a time to achieve the above result ,
then reharden the rod end  by heating to "cherry red" and quenching in water !!

If fitting a ball or roller in the centre of the rod you need to harden the rod ends where they meet the ball or roller
