Saying Hello!
« on: 15.10. 2014 16:02 »
Hi Everyone.   I have been dipping in and out of the forum for a few weeks now and am delighted now to be a member.
My biking experience is limited. In my 20s I did up an old DOT scrambler. Basic cosmetics and paint, nothing too mechanical.
I had a plunger 175 Bantam and also more recently a Dnepr 750 with side car which is very close to finished and as roadworthy as it ever will be. I must admit to having a soft spot for the old Soviet bikes.
Most recently and after some searching and soul searching I am back on British with a 51 A7 which apart from a broken banjo bolt seems ok...fingers crossed.

Thanks for welcoming me aboard. Looking forward to contributing.

Hello Paddy, new member also - 51 plunger A10 though not running yet.

So what's the Dnepr like? I fancied a Chang Jiang for a while - could be a future purchase when the kids are grown up and I have a bit more spare cash...

Thanks for they welcome. Dnepr is a 66 and not as advanced as the Japanese and German machines around at the time. Heavy, cumbersome and slow but built like a brick shithouse .Electrics, carbs and poor quality Ukrainian parts are the main challanges.
