Just checked the registration details for my 1956 A7 and it was first registered in July 1956 so it is probably one of the earlier ones with the ariel hubs with the smooth version lever.

Mines a 56 model, actually made in 55, and does not have nuts on the outside of the brake arm spindles, see pic :-)

The author is going the other way, that is, using BSA hub to fit to his Ariel Huntmaster but the differences he encounters are quite a few.
