Hi, my name is Tom I'm 61 years young and live in beautiful Sydney, Australia. I originally hail from Dublin Ireland and emigrated with the wife and kids 26 years ago.
A little bit of history, back in the day I used to own a 1952 A10 GF plunger and well you know the story, got married settled down and sold the bike to fund a car but never quite got over selling the bike. Later on as the kids grew up I was always on the lookout for an A10 but nothing ever eventuated until one evening while having a few drinks over dinner with a neighbor and talking about bikes we had back in the day when the neighbor tells me he has an old BSA lying up in his shed and did not know what model or year just it was an old BSA and would I mind having a look in regards to helping him restore it.
Well you could have knocked over with a feather when I saw it, it was a 1950 A10 plunger and the first I had seen since coming to Oz anyway long story short I ended up buying the old girl from him and over the past 2 years or so have been buying bits and pieces in preparation to restore her of which I have now started the restoration project.
I'm sure the original colour was Black/Chrome even though the oil and petrol tanks, tool box and rear hub were painted in a gold colour (Not the original Beige).
Sorry for the long winded intro and look forward to maybe getting or giving some help along the way. I am attaching a photo of the bike when I bought it.
Tom
