YES YES YES fandabydozi
just love the tank (fuel) more WW2 and training strips - lovely
and please keep the Mark Anthony reference even though there will be purist  who may quote back - That this foul deed shall smell above the earth

if your going to have a special this is the way to do it   - big jump to something very different

All the best - Bill

Thats what i thought the tank was trashed any way so it was either put a cheap indian import on or custom paint.
Its my fist attempt at 2k painting and i will have to touch up the white before i lacquer it
The mark Anthony reference  was from a old star trek film (a fan for my sins) but an apt military slogan for a old Spitfire
Glad you you liked it Bill it means i am not alone

The colours are from a  USAAF D-Day invasion aircraft which had black and white "Invasion stripes" painted on the wings

"Invasion stripes"

Ah yes I was thinking yellow training strips

I'm a confirmed Trekie, seen all the films but lost interest in the last series, just didn't fit in with the rest for me

Was that the one

now ahoy there, we'll take no truck from guys riding bikes from another time continuum
don't forget we have the transporter (where do you think all those extra RGS came from)

now lets get back to Spitfires - "make it so"

very tidy Paul , you are working to a high quality ,yes like the mix of Allied invasion stripes and flying tiger motif as per Wozza's picture  can  tell P40 but Kittyhawk, warhawk or Tomahawk ,they all look the bloody same to me . Quite like the association with our A10's and the spitfire after all both look stunning and both are long lived and we are certainly more in keeping with that than those triumph (heralds) cum spitfire thingys , regards BobH

The A10 Warthog tank buster is more appropriate surely? I think some of those had a toothy grin up front.

Bikes from a different time continuum? I think if you're riding BSA you're already doing it.

G'day Paul. Bronze guides for an alloy head, ci for iron heads. The expansion rate for bronze is close to that of alloy. Iron guides in an alloy head run the risk of becoming loose if the motor gets really hot.
Heat the head on the BBQ or wife's oven to 250 C for 1/2 hour then gently punch (if they don't fall out) them out. Once cooled measure the od of the guides to make sure that they are std or oversize, same with the holes. They run an interference fit of 1.5 thou". These are the ones I use, http://valvetrain.kpmivalvetrain.com/viewitems/motorcycle-valvetrain-components-bsa-a10-1971-1973/10-br-1971-1973-valve-guides-for-bsa-a10-1971-1973?
yep they got the years wrong.
