Wanted Rocket Gold Star project
« on: 20.02. 2014 08:32 »
Hi All. I know its a long shot but I'm looking to buy a genuine RGS project bike (probably along with everybody else!)  Cash waiting/prompt decision & collection Will travel in UK etc etc for the right bike. Genuine enthusiast, not a money making venture. Anything considered UK or USA bikes from bare bones to a complete bike. Please contact if you have or know of anything suitable. Thanks in anticipation. Peter

I hope you find what you're after spanerc but if you don't just keep in mind that if you start with the right frame(approx 1956) which allows the GS type rear brake etc it is very rewarding to produce an RGS retro which in almost every respect is as per a '62 RGS and will be difficult to spot any difference, especially if you change the front engine mounting lug and front frame steering head gusset. That's a very rewarding project at a small fraction of the cost of a genuine RGS and goes like one too. Cake Street Classics can get you some parts and SRM will rebuild your engine to RGS plus spec.
Good luck anyway.

Hi All. Still looking for one of these elusive beasts. anything considered. Might consider a very true replica probably in the best condition possible and totally accurate ie, no full width cast iron hubs! I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed. Best Regards, Peter
