Where do you get it ?

Hi Guys, another for the brains trust, I am about to chrome plate (they are chrome?) the petrol cocks on my plunger. Can we still get the lovely gause filters that are braised on the tank side as per the picture ? they are still braised on to the cocks.

I just soft soldered them on, and made the tubes first out of some gauze sheet, sorry I don't know where to get the gauze a mate gifted it to me. You need a hefty soldering iron maybe 100w.

I have seen these for sale. There's an insert which goes in the tank and has the gauze soldered in position, and the tap [without gauze] screws into the insert.

go for electroless nickel, it goes on evenly so doesnt have thick build ups like electroplating.
You can electoless nickel plate all sorts of things including cylinder barrels and fork stanchions because it can be build up in quite fine increments

the in tank filters are trouble...
  they plug up and...you wont know...
 if plugged ..and you take it out...the petrol flushes it off..put it back in...go thru it all again...a little further down the road
you need an inline filter
my tank had a bit of Kleenex in it??? maybe from cleaning the bowser???
