That looks very nice Alan ,how well doe's it work and could the standard plate be modified ? Regards BobH
Well, it's not like the disc brakes on my other bikes.
No, I don't think you would want to modify the standard plate when George Prew can supply a good copy similar brake plate assembly

Hi Bob, Alan and All
The A10 scrapper has one on fleabay  *eek* *eek*
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141080566222?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

This has the slotted lug for the more usual full width hub forks

I came across this pic of a converted brake plate and have it saved on the computer

Yes that one posted is still sitting in my barn, belongs to a mate, its the half width type. Cant remember which thread I posted it on.
We dont see much of the fancy eddie dow type stuff down under and at those prices wont be buying one off flea bay.
Will however cast up a kiwi special, and it wont have the race scoops so will look far more stock.

Hello I'm new here, I know this is an old thread but I've been thinking about doing this very modification for sometime and then I found this thread, I too find the tls brake plate to be an eye sore.

Rocket Racer did you manage to make up an originally SLS plate into a TLS using the TLS shoe brakes? I'd be interested.

Its in my queue, has just been deferred due to maintenance on my racebike taking precedence
