first post !
« on: 06.08. 2013 23:57 »
hi,
just saying hello, just joined this forum.well my bike is a 61 a7 on a 64 plate and the crank cases seem to be 57 , if i have checked the numbers correctly.
My father brought the bike in running condition in the early eighties when i brought my first new bike a suzuki ts250er,just to relive his early biker days.he rode it for a while until the mot was due.it failed on a few things ,the main one being the swinging arm bushes.he tried to remove them with many blows with a large hammer, but got nowhere !.it was then left rusting away in the shed
Ten years or so later i swapped it with him for a running suzuki x7 ,by this time the bsa was in a very sorry state, so i thought i would have ago at repairing it.but along came a wife then 3 kids  and the bsa sat in my shed under a rug .
Now about 18 months ago i started to restore the poor old bsa,and yes those swinging arm bushes were a tad difficult to remove (trying not to use any swear words!)
So almost 30 years later its now almost finished, just hope it passes it mot.
I would post pics ,but not sure how to reduce the jpeg file size ,when i find out ,or somebody tells me how will post pics.

cheers rob

update.

thanks for the help with the pics ,here are a few early ones.these have hit the max allow limit on size,do i have to do another post to show any more? if so how do i link it to this one.
cheers Rob

We all like pics, one way to reduce file size is to open the jpeg files using an editor program like Microsoft Photo Editor or Picture Manager (right click the file to use "open with" and then select the editor program, assuming you have one).

The editor program should have a "resize" option somewhere and you use that  to (say) reduce the pics size to 25% of what it was and then save the pic with a new file name, then post it up  *good3*

That may or may not help!

Welcome, & thanks for the fine intro post. Am hoping you will find the forum useful.

Sorry for the picture size restrictions, but it's very needed these days > without it many would happily post pictures that are 5 meters wide and 3 meters high (the 600kb max size is enough for good quality .jpg pictures viewed full-screen). See http://www.a7a10.net/forum/index.php?board=15.0 for general forum info.

...and I know the TS250, survived some crazy things with one of those when I was (much) younger!
