The song that kicks you off
« on: 29.05. 2013 22:42 »

Every time I hear the song "Millionaires Son" by the Creedence Clearwater Revival, it makes me jump up and kick the bike to life for a burst on the wide open road. I find it's got exactly the right pace to suit an A10
In fact, I often find myself humming it when driving, pretending to be in a road movie of some kind.....;D

Anybody else got a song like that?

any of the above really - good selection - and probably most of the below  ;)

but at the moment possible Claptons "Lay Down Sally", got it as my ringtone on the phone as it has a longish intro, I like to see shop assistants starting to jig about if it goes off in the shop.

As an aside for your safety, a friend suggested "Bearshare" as a site for free MP3 downlands, don't  it puts some funny stuff on your PC you don't really want, no virus but stuff sitting in there you know nothing about (unless your as nosy as I am)

How about this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exusLEScGek and a great film too.

My favourite has got to be this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHVYBiVKldU

Here are the lyrics:

The old Rocker wore his hair too long,
wore his trouser cuffs too tight.
Unfashionable to the end --- drank his ale too light.
Death's head belt buckle --- yesterday's dreams ---
the transport caf' prophet of doom.
Ringing no change in his double-sewn seams
in his post-war-babe gloom.

Now he's too old to Rock'n'Roll but he's too young to die.

He once owned a Harley Davidson and a Triumph Bonneville.
Counted his friends in burned-out spark plugs
and prays that he always will.
But he's the last of the blue blood greaser boys
all of his mates are doing time:
married with three kids up by the ring road
sold their souls straight down the line.
And some of them own little sports cars
and meet at the tennis club do's.
For drinks on a Sunday --- work on Monday.
They've thrown away their blue suede shoes.

Now they're too old to Rock'n'Roll and they're too young to die.

So the old Rocker gets out his bike
to make a ton before he takes his leave.
Up on the A1 by Scotch Corner
just like it used to be.
And as he flies --- tears in his eyes ---
his wind-whipped words echo the final take
and he hits the trunk road doing around 120
with no room left to brake.

And he was too old to Rock'n'Roll but he was too young to die.
No, you're never too old to Rock'n'Roll if you're too young to die.

I'm minded to remember Mat Monroe singing born free........

Born free, as free as the wind blows
As free as the grass grows
Born free to follow your heart

Live free, and beauty surrounds you
The world still astounds you
Each time you look at a star

Stay free, where no walls divide you
You're free as a roaring tide
So there's no need to hide

Born free, and life is worth living
But only worth living
Cause you're born free

Top band - well certainly Brian Johnson cause he's a Newcastle United supporter, once tried to get on the board, didn't happen but him and Keegan, could have swapped tips about their perms
