Damn *sad2* looking at the photo, no doubt about being forced to cancel, but the expenses and time spent are not cancelled.

Bugga. Real sorry for you and crew. That's why it's called Mother Nature, because if it was Father Nature you'd just have a good days with rain booked in when needed.
Might have to be 1/4 mile drags till next year.
Cheers

Bummer. I'm also very sorry for your situation. Not that it's the most important thing, but we will all miss the stories that would have been. One thing though, I don't see why that little bit of water should keep you from racing.  *smile*

Yes, mount the machine on a punt, fit a paddle wheel to the rear axle and you can break the water speed record!

Very Very sorry to hear this Briz.

Does this mean all your travels are cancelled or are you still going?   I understand that there are quite a few events on the lakes at this time of year. Probably too late to join in but you never know.

Best regards and hoping you can recover something out of this.

Of course you could always come down here to good old OZ and head out to lake Gairdner, South Australias version of bonneville.

Jules,

I should probably just let Briz responds to this, but he might be travelling, right now. Yes, the bike was transported by sea while Briz and crew flew to California to pick it up and transport it to Bonneville. I will leave it to Briz to quantify the impact of this, like Gallons/Hr. beer consumed.

Well, we had a bit of a mooch about. Bought some stuff, went to see midweek RWYB drags at Irwindale and got an early flight home. Just our luck that that weekend there was nothing at all going on in Los Angeles!
The bike is on its way home, should be here in a couple of weeks.
We met some guys from OZ who mentioned Lake Gairdner. Great to have something like this available Down Under as transportation from there to Bonneville is even more costly than for us. They did tell us though that some years it too gets flooded. And its a long way from anywhere!

Big bummer Briz and sad to hear,

However!
Does this mean that you will be out testing in the UK and can we come and support you?

Regards,
Julian

Bit late replying to this!
Yeah, we'll be testing soon. Dunno where!

David & I got started on the float-chamber upgrade last week. Finished it off today. Will try it out tomorrow, get the fuel level properly set & then add a support bracket.

G'day Briz.
Good to hear from you again. I gather you'll be going back over.

.hi guys, Briz had a good look at your web site, fantastic engineering a credit to you and your team you certainly go back a long way. You mention Alf Hagon i was a great fan when he rode grass track. As a teenager we used to go to many meetings in Kent where i lived. He always had the most immaculate bikes and was the man to beat but mostly won everything. The speedway guys came down occasionally, Reg Luckhurst/Bjorn Knutsson/and even the famous Barry Briggs but to no avail Alf beat them all he was the King of grass, cheers
