I suggest you look for similar bikes on Ebay and see what they go for. Alternatively you could put it into one of the specialist classic vehicle auctions in London.

Not many Road Rockets for sale on eBay, loads of Gold Flashers though.

Are they all much of a muchness or is one type worth more?

On eBay, you can search the previous three months completed auctions. Here is a link to the last three months of completed A10 auctions with and without "Buy It Now" prices. Red means it did not sell, but still good info because it shows where bidding got to.

Thanks for this. I have been looking at completed items but not many RR's go through. How do the prices vary between models, what is desirable?

It is more like a Rocket Gold Star replica than a Road Rocket so best to look at examples of those.

The early (54/55) road rockets had that back wheel and are comparatively scarce. the 56/57 models had a full width rear hub. The front wheels a useful upgrade. Looks very smart, shame its not in NZ  ;)

....And there is the rub with this bike. The DVLA have it down as being registered 28 07 1956 which according to a couple of members who have contacted me does not match up with that frame type.

This maybe more of a bitsa then a RR even though that is what is on the paper work. Engine Number has one R and the buff log book has two as well.

I am not happy selling something that is not 100% kosher so we are doing a bit more digging. I know it was common in period to mix and match and rebuild with what was available but that does not make things easier to deal with today.
