I am very sorry to be posting here as I will not be a regular member. Please don't be offended and I will explain.

My Uncle died just before Christmas, he was the proud owner of an A10 Road Rocket. My Aunt has come to terms with his passing now and tasked my Dad and me to help sell the bike. We are both it to bikes in a big way and have classics but we are not part of the BSA world so we have no idea of demand or value.

My dad has been over today to take pics and strike it up. I was wondering if  anyone could help us with the value and best place to sell it?

We have been tempted to keep the bike but my dad has just got rid of his Huntmaster and with 11 others between us we do not have space  *conf*

Hello, I'd guess the best would be to buy some of the Classic magazines and check the advertised bikes (and also look at closing prices for previous auctions on Ebay) and get an idea of the value. And probably some ads in these magazines (or try Ebay) is the way to sell the bike.

Hi Andi,

Go with Muskrat's suggestion but also give us an idea of your location.  Nothing too specific.  Just your country and general area.  Maybe somebody close to you might be interested in it.

Looked in mags but most bikes seem to be in dealers at huge money.

I will post pics here when I get them but to be honest I thought this would be the last place to try and sell one as everyone here already has one.

 G'day Nobbi, that's a really nice bike mate. A few non original bits but done well.
I'm half a world away but down here I'd say about $7-8000 AU = about 5000 pound.
That's just my opinion. The real world will tell.

Thought about keeping it but to much risk of family troubles if someone is not happy the price is correct.

Dad is not a fan of twins anyway and I have  a Ducati SS and a few CZ's so no real need and it would be a shame for it to spend more time not used.

First, sorry for your loss. I know first hand that disposing of property can be messy and raise financial issues amongst the various heirs. Except maybe for money, I think everyone here (considering that "here" is the A7/A10 Forum) thinks you should keep it and ride it. Have you tried it? 

As far as I can tell, you haven't mentioned where in the world you are, but by the backdrop to the photos, I am guessing somewhere in GB. I see there's a tax badge, but I don't know that those are still required.

I am in Lincolnshire, UK. I have not ridden the bike but will give it a run before it goes.

I do classic runs with my Dad on a Norton 16h and an Ariel VB and much as I would love to own another bike I cannot see that happening. My mum rides a '36 Montgomery Terrier.

I suggest you look for similar bikes on Ebay and see what they go for. Alternatively you could put it into one of the specialist classic vehicle auctions in London.
