Carb question
« on: 15.04. 2013 13:42 »
I made my first proper run out yesterday.
The carburation appears to have a problem: the bike ran smooth as silk at moderate throttle, (50mph) but when I tried to fully open the throttle she baulked. I'm assuming I need to raise the needle a click. What do you think?

before you do that try the old trick of closing the choke whilst running, if it improves then yes lift the needle

Thanks BSA-Bill. I'll give the choke a try.

Today I stripped and cleaned my toot, (carb), fitted a heat insulator and raised the needle by one slot. Woohoo: I opened the throttle fully and before I looked at the speedo I was doing 65mph and could have gone faster!
Thanks for all your suggestions.
