Good. Regarding login, if you login using the "The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you -\- " login page, it sends you to the page you tried to see, not the main forum page.

browser cache\cookies, updating user\PW and deleting stored user\PW for the old site (Firefox has very good PW management, IE needs an extra program to get the overview, this program gives some control\overview over stored user\pw info in IE (may trigger your antivirus, false positive, no danger). Also, here's how to delete an individual user\PW in IE.
I don't understand a single word of the above!..... I have to say though, I have not had a single problem since the changeover. The whole thing has been seamless.

Ahhh, all good news received with thanks. For most it seems to have been going well, but some may have some settings in their browser etc or some details with the website here that have\may have been causing some disturbance.

About the "updating user\PW and deleting stored user\PW for the old site" etc, it's about refreshing the browser shortcut\favorite\link to point to the current address, 'cause one day the automatic redirect from the old domain (***/BSA/forum/index.php) will cease > resulting in 'not found'.

Hi Admin,
Over the last couple of days I am finding the site operating very slowly?? some times it will time out before a topic opens,
Much like the old pre broadband dial up days!!
I have checked my internat speed and all that and other sites / forums seem to be OK

Anyone else having problems??

I'm never sure whether it's my broadband or the forum so am reluctant to comment, but on a couple of occasions the forum tab is still showing as connecting when the other six tabs have connected and loaded (the forum tab is the first that should load up btw).
Also have had no unread mails come up but clicking on "show new replies to your posts" will bring up mails from months back, that however might be stuff from the old server not sure. --- also I'm using my tablet at times as well as my PC emails read on my tablet also come up as read on my PC although not deleted on my PC
On the whole though I think it's still better

the green text is a modification to the mail, when I tried to modify it took a long long time so maybe something is going on

Been good from here lately, but speed down this evening. Can only send a complaint to the hosting and wait!
At least the new hosting has 24\24 support. Will probably be fixed soon.

mails ? and need more detailed info if am to look into it, welcome to PM if you need help.

edit: Ha! seems they got back up to speed, hopefully lasting.

edit 2: Spoke too soon, seems they are struggling, but it's intermitently back now.
At least nothing I did :O) and all data is intact.

edit 3: Someone did something, back online and very fast. Cross fingers.

Not that big an issue, just those couple of occasions it went slow,

although it was slow (other tabs were good) as I said, have to be careful not to jump to conclusions as the rest of the world have a right to use the internet and there are times it does slow down (Saturday after the footy matches), probably more noticeable in areas of slow Broadband (like mine max 2.5 mgbts)

"show new replies to your posts" now comes up with nothing so think that was to do with the change.

Hello bsa- bill, looks like all is ok now on your side. Yesterday evening the forum host had a breakdown, no problem on 'our' side, got fixed after a few hours. Very fast here now.

Local speed varies here too. And many in the world are still on dial-up. This is one of the reasons I 'fight' the posting of large embedded pictures in forums, this forum included. Some places I see 30 large full screen pictures inside a bunch of posts in one forum page, would take 12 hours to see for someone on dial-up or other slow connection. Clickable thumbnails should be enforced by law and the FBI :O)

So, 4 months+ & 780.000 pageviews later, things are working pretty well, don't they? Hosting company seems to have become stable after some offlines earlier, and with some forum settings adjusted to accommodate it to it's new environment it seems to have solved any problems originating from the forum itself.

Anything I should know (including the good things :O) please post a few words here.

Thanks

All well with access from around the world?

Things seems very good from here (I myself am a 'foreigner' to where the forum servers are located), and the hosting company have provided a very stable service for a long period now. May it last.

Any comments, please post here or send a PM.

Thanks

All good down here. Some mornings a little slow about 5 - 5:30 am Sydney time, must be busy time up there.

And another month+ with what looks like zero problems. Hosting company is doing a very good job now (the few 1st weeks\months was a small nightmare before things stabilized > switching servers, upgrading programs, adjusting settings etc).

Anyone got anything to report about speed, reliability or whatever, please come forward, the more I know the more I can take action if needed, or start some investigation into eventual recurring glitches that I may not spot from here. And positive reports welcome as well, of course.

Anecdotes: Approx. distance to were the forum is hosted: Bergen 650km, London 950km, Chicago 6900km, Sydney 16.000km. And the forum (well, the server) is powered by renewable resources http://www.one.com/en/powered-by-wind-turbines :O)

Thanks

Well, the members generate quite a lot of hot air, (and some wind)!

Hello, looks like speed + uptime is still very good. A few reports from different parts of the planet would be appreciated. Thanks.
