Hi John and All,
Those lamps were also fitted to Rudge and maybe a few more makes
"Rocking horse poo" doesnt even come close  *sad2*
I lost the bulb holder from the earlier type from my Rudge a long time ago and have never been able to find one
I have seen a few on fleabay and the price reflects their rarity!!!!! £ 4-500   *eek* *eek* *eek*

Regards
John

Hi guys, yes they are rather rare. I believe that a number of manufacturess fitted them in the mid 30's and they were also sold as after market items. They did them with single and twin lens and I believe that they had a long cable so that the bulb holder could be undone and used as an inspection lamp. I have attached this advert from the 30's which shows a single lens option (top row, third from the left). Wish they were still 3/6.

Unless You have a bit of luck at an autojumble or ebay I doubt You will see one of these ?
May be possible to have one fabricated by a specialist tinsmith ?
Good luck in Your search as they look fantastic .
