Managed to source 1951 brochure but still searching for 1950 if Anyone has one ?
Cash or swaps waiting !

In turn I would be willing to scan & upload (with help) any information I find for the benefit of other "Star Twin" owners .

Particularly need pictures of 1950 Longstroke A7 "Star Twin" fuel tank & fuel line arrangement ?

Best Wishes,
Steve ...

Got October 1949 4 page pamphlet here, with a quite large picture of a Start Twin. I could scan it?

Gday Steve,

I've got a 52 star twin and have collected a few internet shots of them over the years.
I think the bloke at motobrit got it wrong here and this brochure is for 1950 not 1952.
The later star twins don't have twin carbies so the pic here is probably a long stroke??
The 52 has a metal tank badge and this seems to have a transfer.
Also another ad talks about the new Gold flash.
The pics aren't good and I could be wrong but...?

Thanks "Olev" .
It is a bit confusing ..those pictures could be "shortstroke" ?

Remember the guys at BSA were interested in selling bikes made out of parts they had rather than consistency, and correct for that year's specification. Also the airbrushed photo artwork in the catalogues is a mock up rather than a real bike. The same base picture is used for every variant.
I would try and find photos of the bikes at the time. Maybe copies of the motorcycling magazines from the time would be more help.
I believe Classic Bike now has the full photo archive from those magazines and you can order prints.
Cheers,
Iain

A7 Star Twin (long stroke, scan from oct. 1949 catalog)

Difficult to balance sharpness vs raster, this is the best ftm. Watch it at a little distance :O)
Hoping it will be of interest.

The link Olev put up is a 1950 brochure. Read the write up with the 350/500cc Gold Star.

Back to the left of the Star Twin.

It says the 500cc has now been added for the 1950 season, so it must be a 1950 brochure.
