"Star Twin" fuel tank taps query ?
« on: 02.12. 2012 10:27 »
I am about to begin restoration of the fuel tank on My 1950 Longstroke "Star Twin" A7 & recently noticed there appear to be 2 positions of petrol tap fixing .
One type had the fuel taps right at the back of the tank near the saddle & one had the taps around 2" farther forward ..wonder if Anyone has the answer ?
may make a difference in fabricating fuel lines ?

Thanks in advance ,
Steve ...

Stephen,
I feel that the original long stroke tanks have the outlets at the rear and angled towards the rear.
Also should have pump brackets on the bottom of the tank.
I think that the forward tap type tank is from the 1951 onward bikes.
