Hello,
Just a quick introduction and first posting.

I've just bought a 1958 Golden Flash. This is someone's unfinished project but seems to be mostly there so shouldn't be too difficult although I expect to be asking a lot of "Where does this bit go" type question.
s. Also planning on fitting a sidecar (currently fitted to an AJS 18). No photos yet but I'll take a few later in the week.

I've been riding bikes since the mid 1970's but this is my first BSA. I also own a 350 Triumph, the AJS and a Velocette.

I'm looking forward to being a member of this lively community.

Ian.

Hi Ian, you sound like an experienced British bike man, but there are some BSA perculiaries and you will find lots of advice on this forum, also like to hear and see your progress. I remember Nottingham in the 70,s as I used to visit some factories there, and remember the "fog" of material in the air from the lace and cloth industries, which I suppose like most British Industry has all gone now.
All the best Goldy

Hello Goldy,

I'm afraid you are right about the industry. As I type this, I can hear the sound of the demolition of three local factories which have stood derelict for over 10 years. Tragic really.

Time to look at an ill-fitting rear mudguard I reckon *smile*
