 Hi All
 introducing myself as Yar having just joined as a new member Im sure I will need to post for some information in the near future as I have just purchased a 1957   A10 rocket  Gold Star replica from the Uk and am in the process of shipping it out to Aussie , I am in the older age group(retired ) and have recently returned to Bikes after an extended period 9some 40 yrs).  Somehow immigrating from the uk in 1971 and working raising a family etc always seemed to take preference , but i never really lost the interest /passion for bikes  just didn't own or ride, however I decided to recapture my youth 2 yrs before retiring Both my wife and I ride solo and
have a Triumph, Bonniville I also have shipped over from the Uk a  1955 DB32 Goldstar in clubman trim for club rides !! and soon to be a stable mate (when I get it here,, The twin Rocket which i am sure will be a much more flexible ride than the Goldy which is really a racer with Gp carbie and high first gear, clip ons etc, a great ride but not  for plooding or traffic friendly, likes a wind up on country roads !! of which we have some top Riding around Adelaide where we live

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for posting the intro. Very interesting, but you aren't setting the standard for senior citizen here on the forum. By my recollection, we have a few members in their 70's.  Looking forward to pictures of your RGS replica, and you may as well throw in the Gold Star.  I have a chronic case of "grass is greener" when it comes to places to ride. It seems that everyone has more interesting roads available than those in the Chicago suburbs. I think you will very soon be hearing from other Aussie members, a couple (or few) of which are in the Melbourne area. Can't say I remember any Adelaiders as members (sorry to anyone whose geography I should have remembered).

Welcome, I am similar to you, emigrated in '75, except I brought all the bits with me from UK, but only started to make the time for them this year. Its called a slow project!
the forum is great, and as you will have seen a strong and knowlegeable aussie contingent, tricks and specs all over the place!

Welcome Ray,
                   I'm not in Adelaide (way too many, cars, people, buildings etc for me) but down in the S. East at Mt Gambier. You are in a good area for riding though.

You will find the A a entirely different kettle of fish than the Goldie, the A's are very sociable and well mannered, nice bikes.

 Thanks to all that have viewed with a welcome note I probably wont get to Chicago unless I win our lottery here, but am Heading to Mnt Gambia  S Aust In Feb  with the Ulysses Club we belong to ( Club for oldies )
will post some pics of Bikes I  have or had since re-inventing   my youth Ha Ha  when I work out how to do it

 G'day Ray welcome to the forum. All the help you need is in one little box (computer). Nice roads all over Oz and you'll enjoy them much more on an A10.

Hi Ray, Looks like we both joined the forum around the same time. I emigrated as a 10 pound Pom back in 64 from Kent at the ripe old age of 26 and with a heavily pregnant wife and had to wait 6 months for my Triumph Herald to arrive. Everyone laughed at it as they were all driving Dodge Q's with a block of flats under the bonnet. Those were the days...I'm in the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide. Cheers Gerry
