Layshaft end float
« on: 05.10. 2012 16:37 »
I was reassembling my spare (non RRT2) gearbox which had been gathering dust as a box of bits the other day and was wondering if anyone knows how much end float there should be on the layshaft assy.
Anyone know?

Hi Al, Can't be sure, 1 or 2 thou? I think so long as it spins free with minimal is ok? but I think I made mine about 4 thou, but was going for less, thing is I had to hunt around for the right thickness of gasket paper to get it to that.
Am sure someone else can know for sure.
Cheers
