Hi Everyone,

I'm browsing the forum for some time now, so I thought this was as good a time as any to join up and post something every once and a while.

My name is Patrick, and I live in Belgium in the Antwerp-Brussels region.
Professionally I am a mechanical engineer on printing presses.
Since 1991 I own a '55 Morris Isis car, so I built up some experience in British iron over the years, and a couple of months ago I came across a BSA A10 for sale in my neighbourhood. I rode a bike when I was around 17-18 years old and I always wanted a bike again so I found the time had come to jump in and get the Morris a little brother.
The engine was running, but everything like primary drive, clutch, dynamo etc. was a complete mess. I found bodge repairs everywhere in those area's.
The engine however seems to have been professionally restored some years ago and after a check up seems to be OK, so I am currently in the process of throwing in some new parts to get it running properly. Primary drive and clutch are already done, and after that I drove it fore a while. It's running very sweet, and doesn't wobble around, so driving gear seems to be OK.
For the moment I am busy doing timing side and already found some problems there to. One major problem is that someone ripped out the thread from 2 of the timing cover screws. I just got delivered a V-Coil repair kit, so I will know what to do over the weekend.
I will keep you informed

The forum has been a great help in the process, for which many thanks to all.

Regards,
Patrick

G'day Patrick, said that already on the dynamo post. The great nerd machine in the sky got a mixup.
Most old bikes have their owners mods. I'd hate to get one of mine without a list.
Cheers

I understand there's a bit of confusion. I was going to post the new member post at the same time as the dynamo reply, but it got to late in the evening.
Earlier in the evening I said to my better half I was going to pop in the shed for an hour, got in at 7 and came out at 11..... (think that sounds familiar to some...)

Welcome Patrick!

Great that you've joined us. An A10 for sale in your own neighborhood is a lucky find. Looking forward to the pictures.

P.S. Back on that other thread, I was just imagining what Patrick's introduction might sound like and bypassing the first-post directions.
