Primary cover cork gasket
« on: 02.07. 2012 20:39 »
Hi All.

Just about to fit the primary cases and I have some cork gaskets - Do you use any type of sealant with cork?

Many thanks

The cork of course will compress to form the seal, but I usually put a thin layer of grease on each side first.

Thanks Goldy,I will give that a go - was not sure if sealant would spoil the cork

No it will not hurt the cork.
Generally I use Hylomar on the cover & HT grease on the case.
This allows the gasket to come off cleanly whenever you remove the cover.

Thank you Trevor - I might put some Wellseal on it as it is normally the part that is most prone to leaks
