For Sale - 1948 A7 Rigid Project
« on: 26.06. 2012 09:33 »
Hi everyone,

Many of you may have seen on the forum that I have finally finished my 1949 rigid A7. I have now decided I don't really need to have a 1948 rigid project as well so I am offering it for sale.

The engine and frame are both 1948 YA7 units and comes with its original number and V5C. The frame is in good condition with no signs of being tampered with but it will need painting. The engine to the most part is also in very good condition with new pistons, camshaft, cam followers, main bearings etc. It has not been assembled so can be checked.

The gearbox is complete but needs checking. I also have a number of clutch parts that can be gone through to see if usable. Kickstart has been rechromed.

The correct short dynamo is with it and is supposed to be working but I can not guarantee. No magneto.

Frame comes with correct Q/D forks and yokes, oil tank, air box / battery carrier, footrests, brake lever, center stand and a tool box. I also have the rare front mudguard complete with stays though it needs repairing. The rear is a pattern one that may do. I have the correct rear lifting handle. I have a set of long stroke front engine plates but NOT the correct 1947/48 domed drive side plate.

I have both front and rear Q/D wheels and the Q/D front brake hub with new bearings. Front brake plate has been rechromed. The rear hub is complete with spindle and bearing housing but sprocket is worn.

There is a correct petrol tank (supposed to be NOS but needs painting). There is also some other assorted long stroke A7 engine parts.

The project currently owes me just over £1600 so offers around that would be acceptable.

The bike is located in Bath, England. If interested either PM or email me.

Many thanks John
