Bonny,

If I hadn't cheated and gone back to your old posts I might have said Manhattan instead of Ireland.

Ole Thumper,

Still don't know where you are unless you mean India.

I'm from San Diego California USA and have been riding A10s around town as a commuter for 20 years.  In my area the interest in vintage bikes has been increasing with leaps and bounds so I see a lot more vintage bikes being used out and about now than I did 25 years ago. Back then if I saw a vintage British bike go by or parked around it was usually a rat bike or chopper on it's last leg.  Now when I see a vintage British bike go by it's well cared for pride of ownership bike.  A lot of the young guys like to build rigid frame Triumph bobbers but the old long forked choppers for the most part seem to be a thing of the past.  Seeing a unit Triumph or BSA A65 go by or parked on the street is rare, but not that unusual of a sight.  Quite a few guys show up at the local once a month vintage bike night with Unit Triumphs, BSA A65s, Norton Commandos and about three guys with pre-unit Triumphs, but so far I'm the only guy that shows up with an A10, but unfortunately I've missed a lot of the vintage bike nights over the last year.  Vintage bike night used to be called British bike night, but so many of the younger people now see Japanese bikes from the early '70s as vintage bikes.  Also more and more young guys into chopper/bobber type bikes are into Harley as well as Triumph and the occasional BSA choppers so British bike night got re-named Vintage bike night to include everybody.

Hi,

I live in the Valencian region of Spain, formally from England, emmigrated 2 years ago. I am restoring a 53 Golden Flash, I know of a few other BSA version in Spain, no Golden Flashes. My other bikes are two triumphs and a Honda Motocross. The Spaniards are big into bikes, holding bike meetings both classic and modern most weekends.

The roads and scenery are fantastic although it gets too hot sometimes to ride during the day.

All the best

Wow what can i say?? Pedro-that bloke in the front looks a bit like you on ya scooter, those strings sound impressive-but better in your hands than mine, a benefit of the old stuff industry in your neck of the woods(stuck fer the right word??early '60's wow I wuz still refining nose-pickin' hadn't even heard of a banjo!!) my young fella (and his cuz) is the muso of the fam., does standup bass, guitar, mando,& fidd self taught, but I took him to drum lessons for 6yrs and reminded him each time that he's my superannuation scheme!! *contract**conf*
I got a bad '78 story but won't go there

Hey thanks Topdad-um 'bout dem pills??/ ya wannna....nah ferget it just can't remember if red or green  but don't do the brown..... anyway I started out with 'duelin' banjos', but it turned into bonanza mudley after the first 'Gadadang'-so there, but thanks for the discouragement ;) you'd get along well with the blokes I work with ->*beer* Hey too, was that you over at C11-C12, about Tank-speedo rubber a wile back?

late to the party but New York here, the Hudson Valley. You could follow the trail of oil of my 1960 A10 but it seems to be getting smaller!
