389 376 floats?
« on: 17.04. 2012 10:01 »
Monobloc 389 376 floats...

Are they both the same? interchangeable between the two carbs? I'd have thought so, but one plastic float that I have is marked 376. My other spare floats are brass with no identification on them, so I don't know if they are from a 376 or 389 carb they look the same though. I've removed a good working 376 carb to put on a 389 one and I'm finding that ticking the carb takes quite a few moments for the fuel to come up to level. Running tick over seems ok.

According to the Amal reference book the 376 float is part number 376/083 and the 389 float is also 376/083 so it would seem that they are the same. all the best Goldy

Lawrence

Checking the Amal Reference Catalogue floats for both the 376 and 389 have the same part number so I guess they are the same.  FYI:-376/083 is the part number.

Thanks for your replies lads... that is good news, I can use a preferable brass float in a 389.

Must get a copy of that reference book. Cheers!
