Stop Light
« on: 22.03. 2012 21:02 »
I am now ready to take my `51 A7 for its first MOT in 30 years. I have fitted a new rear light, the tail light works and the stop light works if the lights are not on but when I turn on the light and press the brake the stop light does not light up brighter ,what could be the problem ??

Howard,
Possibly a bad or non existent earth connection to the tail light.

ha ha. i think you may have put the bulb in upside down. *smile*
hence the tail light is the brake light and the brake light is the tail light.
so it wont go brighter when you brake.
remove the buld and turn it 180 degrees. in theory it should only go in one way due to the nipples on the side of the buld being staggered.
hope this helps.
ps done it myself.....

Got it sorted, I had the wires around the wrong way, I wonder where my head is at sometimes.
