Hello from Holland
« on: 17.03. 2012 14:18 »
Hi everyone,

I'm Richard a newbie from Holland. After toying around with old Triumph motorcycles (I have three '70 TR6's) I finally bought me a 1960 BSA A10 Super Rocket.
I bought it from the original owner who parked the bike in 1970. Needless to say I have a long road ahead of me before I take her out on the road. I decided to turn it into a sixties cafe racer. I already bought some Ian Kennedy parts from a friend of mine and I'm now on the hunt for other period parts (Lyta alloy petrol tank and Eddie Dow front brake among others).

I'm sure that I can find some inspiration and technical advice here.

Cheers, Richard

Richard,

Welcome to the forum. Glad you joined. Getting a bike that has set since 1970 is such a great bit of luck. I don't kow if I should even ask it it runs, because I'm not sure that would be encouraged, considering such possibilities as a gummed-up sludge trap wait to spin the rod bearings. Very much looking forward to the sotry and photos of the restoration.

Oh, while you're here, take a look at http://www.a7a10.net/forum/index.php/topic,5274.0.html  and cast your vote. I've been the hound trying to increase the number of voters.

Regards,

Richard L.

G'day Richard, welcome to the forum.
What a great find and start of a project.
Would advise to have a good look inside the motor and freshen anything worn. Then once that's done you can ride her while you gather parts.
I love my cafe.
 Cheers
