That's interesting. I had always assumed they fetched higher prices in UK than elsewhere but perhaps not. When I bought my rigid they were cheaper than plunger or swinging arm versions but that was some years ago.

That is indeed lovely... The maroon tank with brass badges look very attractive. Notice the top fed float chamber and the non rifles logo on the timing cover. I have both these timing covers and have often wondered when the logo was introduced to the outer cover. Any one with any ideas?

I believe the stacked rifles timing case came out for the 1949 models, prior to that the timing case is plain. Not sure exactly when , start or mid model year.

That's made me cringe, especially as there is NO electrickery cut out attached to it.
