Hello from a new member in Sydney, Australia
« on: 16.01. 2012 13:28 »
Hello all Im new to being a member but have  been a visitor to your great forum since I purchased my 1962 A10 Golden Flash on my 19TH birthday in 2010. I have restored it to completely original and its like brand new, I've been tinkering with English bikes for 11 years now having purchased my tiger cub when i was 10 as a project to restore with my dad and grandfather and its exactly like my grandfathers he bought new in Malta in 1965 prior to immigrating to Australia , the terrier was next followed by a 60 cub and 69 lightning which belongs to my grandfather, after going from a 200 to riding a 650 i knew there was no turning back so when my boss and friend called me to let me know he had a project i might be interested in i jumped at the opportunity and bought the flash after finishing tech that night i had to wait a whole 3 days to pick it up with sad and the rest is history. I found the bike was registered in Rhodesia and Zimbabwe up until 1981, when it was shipped to Australia and stayed in pieces under a house until a couple of days before i purchased it. i have since fully restored it and everything on it is  brand new and restored i appreciate all the information i have found on your forum and thankyou all for your knowledge,
Kind regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel, welcome, a very nice intro from you .Obviously a young man of great taste preferring old brit iron to modern soulless rice rockets! your parents and grand parents brought you up proper! Seriously there are some very knowledgable guys down there in Oz as you have doubtless seen when you've been looking at the posts on the forum Best wishes Bobh.

Thanks very much for the warm welcome fellas, yep British and proper i don't like the sound of quiet and two strokes, nothing sounds better than a British bike ticking over slowly. As for the young lady thats my fiance and rear pillion on the weekends of course, i look forward to learning more from all of you and having a good chat about the Flash here's to Happy and safe BSAing in 2012  *smile*

Your bike looks GREAT, good job. It's only 1 year younger than me. Look forward to hear of your exploits on the old girl.

Thanks very much everyone. Its definetly the best forum on the internet, let alone the holy of holy's for BSA's yep im still young. As my Grandfather said to me English Bikes are like a disease you keep getting more and more, unfortunately I can blame him as I caught the Disease Early, now im looking for another project im thinking something along the lines of an M20 or M21 next, that way i can put my Original WM20 toolkit and manual from the war my Dads Uncle in Malta gave me to good use.
