It's been quite some time since I've been active here. Until this week, I hadn't done anything with the BSA in several years. Got sidetracked by a few other bikes that were more complete and easier to get on the road. A 1959 Velocette Venom, 1972 Norton Commando, and a 1973 Triumph Daytona. All running now, so finally back to the A10.

Inspired by Greybeard's on-point homage to Dutch, please say "Hello" if you've been absent long enough that we might take you as departed. (Dutch, this definitely applies to you.) If you are, indeed, departed, no need to respond.

I seriously worry about duTch. I doubt he was a sensitive soul that would get huffy and go off on a sulk. He seemed to become silent here during those horrific fires in Aus.

I have tried to persuade my wife to come onto the forum and inform you if I 'check-out' 😱 I'm not sure that she actually would though.

It would be really good if a forum friend, rather than the scrap man, would come here and deal with my bike and all the tools and spares in my shed.

PS. I'm not expecting to drop dead anytime soon; I'm generally fit with just joint pain, three of my grandparents lived to 99 years, however, you cannot discount some fecker in a car taking you out.

When one of my motorcyclist friends complain of feeling unwell the others compete to jump in with "can I have your bikes"

A few years ago I joined the FJ1200 and Ducati OC forum just to notify them of a members passing.
I'm sure my wife would let you all know.

I'm not thinking I'll leave a big hole here. When my time comes I'll just be slightly quieter (and less inane) than usual.

however, you cannot discount some fecker in a car taking you out.

And on that happy note, when out for a group ride on Sunday last, a mate with a nice A10 special he's had for donkey's years lost it on a patch of diesel and went down at about 30mph. Left him with a badly-scuffed bike, a broken thumb and a dislocated shoulder. Worst of all (he says) it mullered his chrono tacho.
Got home and was reading on the Panther forum about a regular contributor there who also had an accident on Sunday. He was riding his Panther combo, had some sort of accident (currently too ill to say how it occurred) and ending up losing his foot. That night in hospital his lower leg was also removed.
You just never know if/when it's your turn... *eek*

Only one I'm afraid. Semi-seriously; it will take some time to sort the wheat from the chaff in my shed.

GB don't think of you as Billy nomates  , with your communication skills and not with all your friends here but maybe members should try to meet with others local to them ,nothing to organised but may help some people ,for instance, i'm in Formby merseyside and know for sure there are at least 4 other A10's around here but don't know the riders .
