Fido, Dutch, flag fixed.

For an admin, it must be the Kingdom of the Net, but no such flag exists :O)

Edit: found the flag of Utopia :O)

Don't think I've managed to add a flag yet. I have a span of attention that fails to engage with most instructions however simple. Figured it would be in profile maintenance but couldn't see it.

As mentioned in this topic, there is no built-in flag option, needs an extra link in the profile. For those who manage to follow the instructions, go ahead and add it, for others I'll do it. So cyclo, you've got the flag (look at your signature to see how it was done).

The next major forum update will hopefully include a flag option, as the way it's done here (patchwork) is cumbersome (but it works!).

The recipe (example, Australia, flag + country info link), to be pasted in your Signature:
[iurl=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia]Australia[/iurl]

To enter your flag: change the *.png to your country's two letters abbreviation:
Australia: au.png
Gr. Britain: gb.png
France: fr.png
India: in.png

To get your country info, find a good link, example wiki, and paste it in, and enter the country name at the end.
Simple, ain't it ;O)

Yes, easy enough to do, it's like adding an internet link to one of your posts, using UBB code, but without having the nice buttons for it.

This is the syntax:
[iurl=http://(link to wiki)] (text and/or further UBB code) [/iurl]

My signature as an example:
[iurl=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austria]Austria[/iurl]

Cheers, Markus

Good info thanks. I've added a flag, info about my town and enlarged my signature.

Can "admin" please add Union Jack to My profile please ... Im too thick !

Thanks ,
Steve ....

Hi, I did a board search for the word 'flag' and found a string about doing this. I've just modified my sig to show a Union flag along with a link to the Wikipedia page about my town. This what I have in my sig box. Try Copy/paste into your sig before editing to your satisfaction. You need to leave the edit page and go to summary to see the effect.

Great Malvern is ok; I certainly wouldn't want to live in a city!

Update: finally got around to get an in-forum flag collection, see http://www.a7a10.net/forum/index.php?topic=4465.msg30023#msg30023 for instructions.

It is a great idea, and important when somebody asks for a supplier for something, and they are on another continent. Not much point telling somebody 4,000 miles away my corner shop sells them!
Don't worry Topdad, I tried to upload a flag a while back, and failed dismally! Even now after reading this thread I have no idea what to do. It's all gibberish to me.
Still, we have both got a flag now thanks to admin.

metal, look in your Profile > Forum Profile Information > Signature and you'll see the system (btw I took the liberty of fixing your wikipedia link). It's called BBC (bulletin board code), which makes it possible to add links, pictures, special characters, colors etc. in posts which are otherwise basic text-only.

Now, there should have been a much easier way of doing this, but as it is now the forum program does not provide this, therefore the workaround of inserting the link to a flag into the profile.
