One for the 4cylinder sidevalve Amilcar cost me $100 here in Adelaide, could find out who it was that lasercut them but the guy i got it off did 10 at a time I think. I am sure it is the way to go having blown recently another old style copper one on a week long rally etc. that cost heaps more than that. Luckily I was carrying the one I bought and just happened to have a mate who decided to come along for a day and look at the funny old cars who had been pit crewing at historic winton. Just happened to have an oxy in the back of his truck to anneal it and copper silicon to seal it! Word of warning though, carefully check the fit before fitting. Blew mine in the morning, fitted new one at lunch stop in a hurry - fired up fine but horrible clacking sound and thought I had done a bearing - then logic set in, off with the head and a piston was just touching in one point. And of course my mate had a burr and cordless drill that soon fixed that and then the car was off again and going like the clappers!
And just remembered that a guy who had problems with a supercharged car reckons that "Three Bond 1207B" is the only way to go for sealing the headgasket - solved a long running problem for him. Also recommended the "1211" for engine and gearbox - talking cars here of course but has anyone else heard of or used this stuff?
