Clutch Rollers
« on: 23.05. 2011 15:00 »
I read in a posting last week about the number of bearing roller in the back of the clutch chainwheel race, well having just taken the engine out to renew the gearbox seals and back again ,on rebuilding the clutch I only have 18 rollers in there with no room for any more at all, its a 1949 plunger, the clutch runs smooth and free is this a phenemenon or were there different bearing sizes in 1949 ?

I presume you have a six spring clutch, if so that is the correct number

Thanks for your reply Andrew, it runs fine with 18 roller you sometimes need to check
with the forum before spending days searching the garage floor. Alan
