Rigid A10
« on: 20.10. 2007 07:24 »
I went to a swap meet last week and there was a [basket case] A10 for sale. Its frame no. was ZA7R 7782 and it had a ZA10 engine in it but I cant remember the engine no. Anyway, after having a look at my dating info my stuff says that the 49' A7's had the R in the frame no. but the 50's dont. 7782 is a 1950 no. My question is could it have been a genuine rigid A10. Does anyone have factory records or any way of checking. I didnt buy it as it was basically only a frame and engine plus a few bits, no guards or tank. Would have been ok if you had the remains of another one or a heap of parts.  Cheers, Brian.

I thought A10s had A7 frame numbers *conf* apart from the much later RGS.

Sorry about that Fido, too many numbers to think about. It was definitely ZA7R 7782. I've changed my original post.  Brian.

I think the rigid frames were stamped "R" after the plunger frames became available, being stamped"S".
