i left my grandmothers old house today and set off for home , the road is a narrow winding one and is normally a joy to ride , its being used as a rat run by scumbags and lorry drivers more and more though ,so i came round a corner and was face to face with a rigid bodied lorry , he was right in the middle of the road and going way too fast, anyhoo i wound up in the ditch , the front mudguard and my shoulder took most of the wallop , the guard was so beaten into the front tyre the wheel wouldn't rotate ,

i was coursing through undergrowth like tarzan bill, i'd have liked to get a number , this road is total unsuitable for goods vehicles , and especially for ones speeding .

Sorry to hear this Bonny. The worst bit is the sound of your precious metal crunching into things. And you know it's going to hurt more later.

Bad luck glad you are mostly ok.

i have yet to be in an accident that hasn't been the fault of someone acting the idiot , anyway it think the main damage is a completely mangled front mudguard and stay , a bent footrest and a small dent on the petrol tank , i got a friend to pick it up in his van and take it to his workshop, i'll look at it over the weekend , but i'll have to divert funds from the a10 to sort it out.

I hope you let the police know. dangerous driving and failing to stop at scene of an accident.
Lorries are easier to trace than cars..they also often use the same stretch of road at the same time every day.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck, but be glad you are (mostly) okay and don't worry about the crumpled sheet metal too much, THAT can be fixed and doesn't hurt!

thanks again for the kind words everyone , i am fine , just sore and disappointed about the damage to my bike , have it 11 years now and was worried it might be bent or something drastic.
