That's a beautiful bike, and a good price. Shame he can't pass it on to a son or grandson as I plan on doing.
Good luck, hope it goes to a worthy home.
Cheers

Looks good, I'm not trying to be difficult here but its not 51', its a 49 or 50 model. Whats known as the early or "longstroke" model.

By current conversion 3550 quid is $6200 AUS, its wouldnt be on the market for long over here at that price. I cant remember the last time I saw one for sale.

Nice bike,
If it was in Aust' at $6200, it would be parked next to my gold '52 Flash right now and I would have a big smile on my face.
I tried to buy a '49 A7 14mths ago from Newcastle, beautiful bike, it went at over Au$10k  *smiley4*

They are indeed very nice bikes, I love mine to bits and this is one very good example. However, the parts that come up for sale on ebay are nearly always very cheap in comparison with later A10 and A7 parts, often not even attracting any bids, I've wondered why this is so?

Went for a ride today with Mike, he used his Goldie this time. This guy is 74 and although not in good health - heart problems - bad legs etc., he can still really ride a bike. The old bugger rushed off shouting "try and keep up"  *smile*, I did but had to work at it.

Anyway to get back on topic, I asked about the year and his was definitely registered in 51. He also said that as far as he knows that model was made up to 52. Also you are right, it is a "long-stroke".
