Wanted: Rigid A7 frame and other parts
« on: 25.06. 2010 09:18 »
I have a 1948 long stroke YA7 engine and would like to build a rigid A7 around it to go with me 1949 rigid B33. Originality is not a major issue though I would like to do my best to get her a accurate as possible. If anybody out there in the UK has a spare frame and other parts then please send me a message.

I have replied to the post by Mark Davies regarding his plunger A7 for spaes / repairs for sale but so far have not heard back from him.

Best regards!

Yeomans have a A7 rigid project bike but its a bolt up frame. The frame is in pretty decent condition and the tool box was excelent...the rest was in a box so didnt get to see it...said it was about 60-70% complete.

I picked up a early welded A7 frame from there this morning, but it has been well butchered, loads of brackets removed and the hardtail has been widened.

They also have a plunger frame.

Hi Paul, I spoke to Yeomans last week and they said they had a rigid 1948 frame but somebody had removed the footrest brackets. I was going to try and get up there this week but I guess that is the frame that you have just picked up so that one has gone.

Did they say what they wanted for the project ?

Hi John, yeah, that was the frame I picked up. Its fine for what I want but it is in a bit of a state, alot of the lugs have gone and the left side of the "hardtail" has been bent and extended to get a wider wheel in.

No idea of the price for the project, it had £250 on the tank....I think its fair to assume thats just the price of the tank alone!! When I first spoke to him on the phone i got the imperession he would sell just the frame but when I mentioned I didnt want a standard bike he suggested the chopped frame which suited me better.

Personally I would act fast as he has an open day soonish and his sidekick reckoned alot of stuff will go then.

Hth, Paul.

Hi everybody. Just to say I have now found a frame, fuel tank and the wrong oil tank, a plunger one but it will have to do until I can get the correct one. I am still in need of a battery carrier, a decent front mudguard as the one I have is rather battered, a chain guard and a few other odds and sods including the correct oil tank.

If any of you have any rigid A7 parts that might help me complete my quest then please contact me.

Thanks, John
