john le mesurier on an a10
« on: 24.06. 2010 02:37 »
i was watching a programme on telly one evening a year or two back about great british actors , and it showed a clip of john le mesurier (sgt wilson , dads army etc) getting off a lovely plunger golden flash in one of the last programs he made, i didn't catch what film or program the clip was taken from , does anyone know ? he died in 1983 so it dates from late 70's early 80's.

There was a TV play where he played a sort of randy old leather-jacketed vicar.  Can't remember what sort of bike he had, but I think it was after Dad's Army was made.

It was Play for Today, or similar series.

I think he was bonking young things and also had a former lover, played by Beryl Reid or a woman who looked like her.  In their active days they had referred to sexual congress as a "fuddle."

They accomplished something or other in the story and she said that it would have been a good time for a fuddle in the old days.  He said "If only you were still sexually attractive."

Not much else has stuck in my spongy brain.
