Dear all,
The gearbox rebuild progresses slowly, every step a challenge...!!
The latest is I'm looking at the little screw that holds the kickstart spring in place. When I took it out the end was chewed & some alloy swarf came with it.. I cut the end with the b*gg*r*d threads off and have carefully wound it back in. It goes in until the end is just flush with the outer case & stops. A fresh 1/4BSF 26TPI bolt does the same.
I was hoping to maybe put a longer screw in with a nut on the outside..
Question - is this supposed to happen? The parts list doesn't show a nut but at present the screw doesn't go in far enough to hold the spring tightly..
All thoughts appreciated.
thanks,
Adrian
