New guy from Norway
« on: 27.05. 2010 07:23 »
Hi!
I'm Lars from Akershus, Norway (explains the grammar).
I've got this 1948 A7 I think( frame# YA7 2090) with a 1953 650 cc motor.( BA10 5644).
Anyone that's good at translating these numbers?

Looking forward to getting to know fellow BSA riders and learn and share mechanical issues!

Thank you, neighbour.
(It said Finland, right?)
Some friends of mine is from Finland. Jakobsstad, and they talk swedish.
I've got pictures on my computer at home. At "work" now, so I'll get back to that when I get home.

Hello Lars and welcome!

Looking forward to see some pics of your bike.
YA7 2090 would be a 1948 A7 rigid frame, BA10 5644 a 1953 A10 engine, so your information is correct so far.

Don't worry about grammar or spelling, like you can see from my profile data I'm Austrian and so far all the native-speaking gents here didn't bother about linguistic mistakes too much (not publicly at least). *lol*

Kind like that story of a Pole who asks the language master: "Me want polish my English" and the latter says: "Sorry Sir, but I think your English is Polish enough!"

Cheers, Markus

G'day Lars,
Welcome, lots of non-English speakers here, the boss is one. I quite often have to look at my "dick n harry".
Your A10 hard ass should be a fun ride. Is she on the road ?

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!
The bike is great in every way, that's my opinion. Many would probably disagree, since it's not original and so on. I think it has a Harley front-end and some other Harley parts as well. ( Hope that statement doesn't get me kicked out of here  *eek* )
I took a couple of rides last summer, (bought it less than a year ago) so it has been on the road, but right now I'm about to take my drivers license for motorcycles (yes, in Norway you must have an extra license for riding a motorcycle even though you have license to drive a car and the trafficrules are just the same.. great country!) and figure out why it's not charging. I read somewhere here that I'm not allowed to post pictures until I have posted 5 posts, so pictures will come as soon as I reach that milestone..
See ya!

Lars,

Welcome. I wonder if our administrator, who lives in Bergen, is on holiday. I'm surprised he hasn't chimed in with "Hey, you're just around the corner from me!" Well, really, I guess it's all the way cross-country, east-to-west. Right? I think the photo posting restriction might have been eased. Have you tried it? Be sure they are ".jpg" of 600 KB or less.

Whenever I hear of a new member from a region like yours (as I imagine it), I am thinking short season, but places to ride of which I am deeply envious.

Richard L.

CAREFUL THERE, POSTING FOR COUNT HAS BEEN FROWNED ON IN THE PAST. REGARDLESS, I DON'T THINK THERE WILL BE A PROBLEM. YOU MIGHT GET A LUNDSMAN DISCOUNT.

That looks like about 400 lb. of fun, and there are some most interesting cars in the background.

Richard, I'm impressed that a guy from Chicago knows where in Norway Bergen and Akershus are situated. You're very right, it's westcoast and eastside. I've been at O'Hare (was that right) airport last summer  *smile*

The custom (with no wheels at the time) belongs to a buddy. The Camaro, I sold a week ago. Looking for a 20's or 30's Ford I can spend some time on.

Let's see if I have some more pics..

Velkommen, fint å se Norge mer representert her (= (quite obvious) welcome, nice to see Norway more represented here).

Work + back pains here, definitely no holiday..yet (but A10 still in pieces *sad2*). And Lars is situated 500km away.

As for pictures posting, see top of this post http://www.a7a10.net/forum/index.php/topic,292.0.html
