Nick Ward drawings
« on: 16.02. 2010 21:00 »
Does anybody know a good source for prints of Nick Ward's motorcycle pictures?
His drawings are published in "The Classic Bike Guide" regularly and I find them absolutely brilliant, so I thought it might be nice to have some framed for the workshop (and maybe the living room if enforceable politically  *smile*)

I've seen T-shirts and mugs with his artwork, but couldn't find prints of his work.

There is however a chap that sells some on ebay:

(search his shop for "Nick Ward" to see some more)

But there are so many other drawings from him I like even better, so a seller offering a wider range would be nice. And if they were a bit cheaper it wouldn't hurt either  ;)

Cheers, Markus

If not read yet, get a copy of 'Down the Road' by Steve Wilson, great book with classic bike stories and lots of NW drawings. A must.

I know the book, but I want the drawings in larger scale and high quality to put on the wall.

Hi Marcus, I share your liking for Nick Wards work and have over the years on occasion torn that page out of the magazine to keep.
Did you know he no longer does them for "The Classic Bike Guide", these now done by a lady and are of a more ah feminine style.
Andy Ternans' website has some examples for sale  http://www.andybuysbikes.com/Nick%20Ward%27s%20page/Nick%20Wards%20Page.htm

Hello Bill!

Thanks a lot for the link. Is the phone number Nick Ward's own? I think its not Andy Ternans.

I wasn't aware that The Classic Bike Guide no more publishes Nick Ward's work, not getting hold of a copy for a while here on the good old continent. What a pity! (sorry, didn't mean to offend the lady contributing the drawings now, she inherited a difficult legacy indeed *whistle*)

Hi MG,

I wouldn't worry too much about not being able to get hold of CBG these days. In my view its really gone quite downhill . I haven't renewed my subsciption. I might give Real Classics a go. It's done by the original teanm who put CBG together.

Nick Ward is a superb illustrator.

Cheers,
Iain
